Spiral vacuum pump. Principle of operation and appliance

A spiral vacuum pump is used to create a deep vacuum by pumping gas out of a container. The product works only with gases.

The principle of operation of the spiral pump is as follows: inside the metal body there are two spirals. One of them is stationary. Due to the constant approach and distance of the two spirals from each other, a deep vacuum is formed inside. At a maximum approximation, closed crescent-shaped cavities are formed between the spirals. Further rotation causes the cavities to contract, and the incoming gas is pushed out. The spirals approach, but do not touch, which eliminates the moment of jamming. There is also no need to lubricate the approach points.

The design of the spiral vacuum pump:

• Housing that can withstand significant loads;

• A spiral that moves along a pre-defined orbit;

• A spiral that is fixed permanently. In the center of the spiral there is a hole that is designed to relieve pressure that accumulates during the operation;

• Special mechanism that prevents the moving spiral from turning;

• In order for the spiral to start its rotation, an eccentric shaft is installed;

• Sealing elements for sealing the internal volume of the unit.

• Laboratory studies related to how vacuum affects living organisms and materials;

• In industry. There are parts in electro mechanics that can only be soldered or created under vacuum conditions;

• Some packaging lines use vacuum;

• Formation of products in the food industry;

• The oil and chemical industries work with aggressive and explosive environments that react with oxygen. For their gas pumping, in vacuum conditions;

• For creating plastic materials, solid granules of a certain size;

• In electric microscopes for a scientific research;

• In medicine. Some systems only work when the vacuum is being constantly maintained.

Production is in constant development, new types of equipment are emerging, which means that new opportunities for using spiral vacuum pumps will also appear.
